The CDs, DVDs, and the Monument Collection have moved to the 6th Floor. The Call number M (which includes Music scores) has moved to the 6th Floor as well as oversize books for M, ML and MT.
LPs and VHS have moved to the basement and patrons can request them online.

What floor are the Music Scores on?
All Music Scores have a call number starting with M (for music) so they would be on the 6th Floor. You may want to let students know about the LC Desk if they are looking for scores. I am not sure how easy it is to browse for scores.
There are also scores held by Special Collections on the 25th Floor. If they need help with those, send them to the reading room on 25.

The call number for scores starts with the letter M, M's are on Floor 6. If someone is looking for a particular score they should probably get the call number only because there are a lot of scores on Floor 6. Send anyone looking for music scores to the LC Desk for Research Assistance help as looking up music can be tricky sometimes.

We do not carry sheet music* but we keep music scores on the 6th Floor. I would suggest someone looking for sheet music visit the LC Desk downstairs and they will be able to help them.
*Sheet Music tends to be more "popular" music that can be found for piano and tends to be its own little booklet. Music Scores is the term we use for what we carry which are are a book that contains a symphony and pages for the different instruments used in the piece.

All scores will be an M call number so they would be located on the 6th Floor. But they would probably be best to look up the score in the catalog.
Is there a Music Library in the building?
Quite a few years ago we did have a Music Library but then they decided to phase it in to our general collection. Music books with the call number ML and MT are on the 6th Floor. The CD's and our Music DVD's are also on Floor 6. LPs and Music VHSs are in the basement but can be requested online or at the LC desk. So it depends what they are looking for.
