There are some new items available at the Circ/ Reserves desk.
They now have power adapters for Apple laptops ...They have both Magsafe Power Adapters for Macbooks, MacBook Airs, and MacBook pros. They also have Magsafe 2 Power Adapters for newer MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops.
The adapters are for UMass student, staff, and faculty only and they loan for up to a 4 hour period.
They also now have Portable DVD Drive Kits in blue cases that lend for a maximum of 4 hours and are for in-library use only.

Cameras (Point and Shoot)...
Canon DSLR's are now available for loan on Floor 3, in the Digital Media Lab. Vixia Camcorders are available for loan in the DML as well as at Circulation/Reserves.
****New Changes****
Microforms viewing, saving, and printing has now moved downstairs to the Learning Commons. It is located in the room left of the FAX24 machine. Patrons still request the Microforms online in the card catalog using the request Microform link. They then pick up the retrieved Microforms at the Circ/Reserves Desk. If they need any help using the machines they can talk to the staff at the Learning Commons and Technical Support Desk. If they need help with research or requesting Microforms they can go to the Reference and Research Assistance Desk.

All Reserves are now 3 hour loans.
Starting on June 10th, 2011 all Reserves will be 3 hour loans. Most Reserves are allowed out of the building, there are a few exceptions. Also you may renew as long as no one else is waiting. All renews must be done at the Circ/Reserves Desk in the LL.
What shoud I do if one of the other library desks is not staffed?
If it is supposed to be staffed then have the patron check back in a few minutes. It could be possible that the staff at the desk are away helping someone at the moment. If they don't come back then give the patron the main number for the desk...

****New Changes**** Combined Circulation/Reserves Desk
The new Circulation/Reserves Desk is not open on the Lower Level. It is located at the bottom of the stairs near the New Book Shelf. This new service point will be open all of the hours the Library is open just like the LC and the Building Operations Desk. All of the Circulation Services moved to the new service point. From the 3rd Floor the Print Reserves, Media Reserves, laptops, locker keys, and multimedia equipment are now all of the Lower Level at the new service point. What is on the 6th Floor you ask? Media (CDs, DVDs), Media Viewing Equipment, Music Monuments.
Circulation and Reserves Move and Merger
The Circulation and Reserves staff are tentatively scheduled to move to the new Du Bois Circulation/Reserves service point n the Lower Level the week of July 12. This service point will be open all hours that the building is open.
The Circulation Office on the "E" Level will remain open on Monday, July 12 as staff begin their moves.
The new Circulation/Reserves service point is scheduled to open Tuesday, July 13 for circulation services (including 5C and ILL holds, carrel inquiries, and borrower card applications.) Print Reserves, locker keys, laptops, and multimedia equipment will be available at the new service point on Wednesday, July 14.
The Billing Office staff will move on Thursday, July 15, and Electronics Reserves staff will move on Friday, July 16.
Stacks Management will remain in its present location on the "E" Level.

The Digital Media lab lends photo and video cameras that have a 3 day loan period with no renewals. They also lend out tripods, and all sorts of audio equipment. Click HERE for more information.

They need to go to the LC Desk on the Lower Level.
Where are course books located?
Basically anything class related or that is put here by a teacher is on the Reserve located at the LC Desk on the Lower Level. This could include a movie, old exams, class notes, textbooks, other books, course packets etc... Anything for a class that they are supposed to physically come in here for should be on there.
