Where can someone find Dictionaries and Encyclopedias?
Send them to the LC Desk. Dictionaries and Encyclopedias can be tricky to find.
Are all of the dictionaries located downstairs in Reference?
No, all the reference books are shelved with circulating books upstairs by their subject call number.
Can you take out Dictionaries?
Yes. We have some dictionaries in the stacks that people can check out. If people are looking for dictionaries the best place to send them is to the LC Desk to get a Reference Librarian to help them, searching for dictionaries can be tricky and confusing.
Where are the Spanish Dictionaries located?
We do have Spanish dictionaries in this library. The call number starts with PC 4640 located on the 8th floor.
The best thing to do when you have a question about anything that could be in our collection is to send them down to the LC Desk for Reference and Research Assistance. We don't want to give out wrong information and Librarians go to school to be able to help people with these types of questions. If someone has a specific book and author you can look it up but anything more than that should be sent to the professionals in Reference. Plus what they are looking for always seems easy at first but quickly you can find yourself over your head.
