Something came up today that I realized could be a bit confusing. A patron came in looking for a book that started with the call number PL. Which one would think would be on the 12th Floor according to the call number list. But she said it was not up there and that it was in Chinese. I automatically thought about our East Asian and Near Eastern Collections we have on the 21st floor. These special collections have call numbers that start with A and go to Z. An easy trick though is to look up the book because the "location" will say "UM East Asian" or "UM Near East". And then you can find it listed on the pink sheet. Also you can click for a detailed map of the 21st Floor.

East Asian collection on Floor 21?
Yes and No. On the 21st Floor is part of the collection but on the 22nd Floor we have the East Asian Reference Collection. If people need help with this collection (or any collection) I would send them to the LC Desk downstairs.
