Construction on westside of Library
Contractors will be removing concrete sidewalk slabs on
the west side of the Du Bois Library deck tomorrow, Thursday, June 15, from 7
a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Demolition work will
continue through next week (Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23). This is in preparation for installation of
new concrete in late June and July.
The demolition work can be loud. Concrete cutters and heavy equipment will be
used to remove damaged slabs. Given the
location of the work, occupants in library offices directly below the deck will
be most affected.

Removal of concrete sidewalk slabs on the west side of the Du Bois Library deck that was scheduled to begin today, Thursday, June 15, and continue through next week, has been postponed. A new date for sidewalk demolition has not yet been set. We are working with the contractor to devise a plan and schedule that does not disrupt New Student Orientation. We will advise when a new construction start date is known.
