If a patron can't find a book in the stacks what do I do?

I first check to make sure that the book that should have been there is not out, at another library, or in Reserve. If it should be there and it is not try calling Stack Management at 5-3796. If they have someone they will accompany the patron in to the stacks and see if they can find the book. If they are not able to help at the moment or don't find the book, put a request on the book for the patron. This way staff will continue to look for it for the patron.
