If the fire alarm ever goes off in the building it is part of your job to help clear the building of patrons. There are a few possibilities for what you need to do:
1. If you are on a rove, let the supervisor know where you are and start coming down to the lobby through the stairs. DO NOT USE AN ELEVATOR!
2. If you are at the front desk, take a radio and decide which emergency exit you would like to hold open. Each student should work one door, located in the stairwell lobbies on either side of the floor. Open the doors and let people coming down the stairwells know they should exit there. Do not allow patrons to leave via the lobby doors, they need to be cleared for fire personnel.
3. Once the stair wells have cleared, radio the supervisor and leave the building yourself. Stand on the deck and await further instructions. Make sure students and passerby's know they cannot enter the building until you give them the all clear. Make sure people leave pathways and stay out of the way of the exit doors and the lobby overhang.
4. Once you get the all clear, let everyone know it is safe to go back inside through the lobby doors-not the emergency exits. They can then use elevators to return to their work. Report back to the Info Desk to speak with the supervisors.
