It is "Take Our Children to Work Day" on Thursday, April 20th. There is a Library Scavenger Hunt that day from 10am-noon and there will be many kids coming in. They will start the tour at the Information Desk where whoever is on duty will need to give the children the scavenger hunt worksheet, pencil, and bag. I will have these items there at the desk for you. You will want to explain that they need to answer the questions on the sheet and that there will be treats along the way. They will be asking a question at each spot on the hunt and the one for the Information Desk is "What do you need to remember when you are in the Library? The answer (I didn't know what it was) is that you need to be quiet or to use your soft voice. The children or parents will probably ask you the answer to this so be prepared. Then you will want to send them on to the next step and that will be down the stairs to the right (across from the New Book Shelf) where they will find the next person waiting for them by the garden. The last tour needs to be here by 11:30. If some people come in after that you will have to let them know that the scavenger hunt is done for the day. Please look up often and ask anybody that looks lost if they need help. I did this last year and many people needed help finding the desk. It won't be hard to miss because they will be with little kids.
Thanks for all your help and cooperation!
Michael Magrath who is heading the event will probably be checking in at the desk to see how it is going.
