When you answer the Information Desk phone please make sure you either say "Library Information" or "Information Desk" and your name. This will make the caller know that they are calling the right place. Do not just say "Hello" because people may feel they have the wrong number.
If staff are calling to report a problem in the building, take a detailed message with their name, their location, the problem they are reporting, and a date/time so we know when it came in if you leave your shift before seeing us. If it is serious enough, radio the supervisors immediately.
